Regular cleanliness and grooming have been shown to improve a client's sense of self-worth and mental health.
Personal in-home care such as bathing, mobility help, grooming, and more are provided by Comfort Keepers' trained caregivers to seniors who wish to maintain their independence but are finding that their daily routines have become more challenging to complete as they get older.
In addition to personal care, the client or client's family may decide if they would also like assistance with everyday tasks like grocery shopping, dry cleaning, or house cleaning. Unlike companion care, which focuses primarily on social needs and domestic housework for the client, personal care is an all-encompassing form of care that includes hands-on support with personal activities like showering and using the restroom.
Grooming routines including showering, getting dressed, brushing their teeth, and shaving will be discussed with the client, and the client's family while putting together their customized care plan. Our mission at Comfort Keepers is to help seniors with their daily hygiene tasks so they may feel and look their best at all times. Our in-home caregivers assist seniors who have difficulty performing grooming duties due to physical restrictions or the fear of falling while taking a bath.
Bathing, helping with mobility, incontinence, and toileting care, as well as meal preparation and serving, specialized care for those with memory issues or cognitive impairments, fall risk assessment and prevention, and change in condition monitoring, are all examples of the types of personal care that may be provided by our in-home caregivers.
Our in-home caregivers are highly trained professionals who are well equipped to provide a wide array of personal care services tailored to meet the unique needs of each individual client. These services may include assistance with bathing and grooming, helping with mobility and transfers, managing incontinence and toileting needs, as well as meal preparation and serving.
In addition, our caregivers are experienced in providing specialized care for those with memory issues or cognitive impairments such as Alzheimer's or dementia. They are trained to support and engage these clients in stimulating and meaningful activities that promote cognitive function and overall well-being.
Our caregivers also conduct thorough fall risk assessments and implement personalized fall prevention plans to keep clients safe and prevent accidents. They are skilled in monitoring for changes in condition and communicating with healthcare professionals to ensure that clients receive the appropriate care and attention.
At the end of the day, our caregivers are committed to providing compassionate and comprehensive personal care that promotes independence, dignity, and quality of life for our clients.
Consistency is key when it comes to things like personal hygiene; it's crucial to the overall health of the client that they're able to bathe at least several times per week.
Lack of regular washing can lead to health problems, and for seniors, bathing or showering can be a huge undertaking that only becomes more difficult with age.
Assisting with personal hygiene, using the restroom, and other such activities are where in-home personal care aides often focus their time and energy while helping to maintain the dignity of the client.
